What is Type 2 Diabetes?
Type 2 diabetes is when the body produces enough insulin for metabolization, but for some reason, the body cannot use it effectively. This type of diabetes is the most common form of diabetes and most prevalent among elderlies.
Type 2 Diabetes begins with insulin resistance, a condition in which cells fail to respond to insulin properly. As the disease progresses a lack of insulin may also develop. The primary cause is excessive body weight and not having adequate exercise. Approximately 90% of all cases of diabetes worldwide are of this type.
